New Zealand Light Leathers operates from Timaru in New Zealand and was incorporated in 1973 as a tanner and producer of wet blue and crust leathers utilising New Zealand pickled lambskin as its sole raw material.
The development of a range of deer leathers started in 1988. Today this is the principal focus of the company and it is one of the world’s largest processors of deer leather for the garment and accessory markets.
The company also produces high quality leathers using lamb and calf, and operates a contract fellmongery and wet blue processing operation.
The company exports over 95% of all its products worldwide and has established a reputation as a key supplier of leather to a number of the world’s leading luxury brands and fashion houses.
